MyBru App: Official Press Release

MyBru App: Official Press Release

After over three years of hard work by two young entrepreneurs, MyBru App has officially launched their mobile platform for Android (available on the PlayStore) and iOS (available on the AppStore) on the 27th November 2017. MyBru app is best described as providing an exciting and innovative platform for connecting brands that are looking to advertise and acquire insights on their customers with consumers that want access to an easy and quick way to find specials. MyBru app has initially been launched in Cape Town with specials under four distinct categories – food, drinks, retail, and entertainment.

“We want to give our friends, family, and people in our city the opportunity for a more adventurous and more spontaneous lifestyle. Explore your city, meet new people, find new places, enjoy great specials, and ultimately just do more,” said Kalvin Sutherland, MyBru App’s Creative Director. “It’s about the opportunity to really enjoy life, to adventure, experience, discover, and enjoy – without breaking the bank.”

The app allows users to find specials in their area, search for specific deals, or see what’s happening around them – absolutely free of charge. Users will also be able to connect with brands, see their schedules, and even request an Uber to their required destination.

Brands will have the opportunity to advertise to a wide customer base for a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising, growing brand awareness and driving sales. With integrated analytics, a growing audience, and active users, the app will change the way brands advertise during this mobile movement.

“It’s the year of the underdog – small brands changing the game. What we are really trying to do is level the playing field. We want to give small brands, startups, and new ventures the opportunity to reach an ever growing audience, with a positive return on investment,” said Reece Meyer, MyBru App’s Executive Director. “Let’s see the gems make a difference.”

MyBru App and its team are already starting to make waves on social media, and the app is starting to gain major traction on the AppStore and PlayStore, with over 200 downloads within their first 24 hours of being live. MyBru App also started trending on the PlayStore and made it into the top #10 on the South African AppStore –  both within 48 hours of launch. We are excited to see what’s coming. Brands interested in joining the platform or collaborating can make direct contact with the MyBru App team via any of their social media platforms: @mybruapp, their website http://www.mybruapp.com, or via email: info@mybruapp.com

MyBru App x Primal Eatery – Exclusive Special

MyBru App x Primal Eatery – Exclusive Special

We’re excited to announce our exclusive special 🔥🥩 with our friends over at Primal Eatery – where the team is family, the food is sexy, and the drinks will make you stay for far longer than you intended to 😉

kxl content-1809

Kalvin Sutherland (our creative director 🎨) along with Rebecca Vogel (our in-house photographer 📸) took the opportunity to visit Primal and be the first to see our exclusive 3 course special exit the kitchen.

kxl content-1512

By incorporating an element of fire, innovative cooking techniques, and creative food styling, power-couple Brynn and Kristina have transformed the concept of family and food into the ‘not so average’ steakhouse Primal Eatery is today (but don’t let them hear you say steakouse, as they much prefer the term ‘meatery’ 🥩 – and rightfully so 😉).

kxl content-1680

“Absolute perfection, really. Executive Chef Ashraf is a culinary artist, and the dishes that he prepared were beautiful. I might have taken a bite or two of the dessert while Ky was taking photos… it was delicious 🤤” – Kalvin

[Press Release] Where Brewing Meets the Grind | Boston Breweries

[Press Release] Where Brewing Meets the Grind | Boston Breweries

Pose the question “Brew?” to someone, and their answer will normally
define their lifestyle. If they say “Cheers! Nothing like sipping a cold
one” you’re looking at a confirmed beer drinker. If, however, the answer
is “Double espresso – hold the milk,” we have a coffee connoisseur on
our hands.
And now there’s a third option, brought to you by Boston Breweries and
Deluxe Coffeeworks: an option that will leave both sets of brew addicts
licking their lips and looking for more – Black River Coffee Stout. It’s
exactly what it sounds like: a jet-black brew with a toffee coloured
head with an unmistakable aroma of perfectly roasted coffee beans. With
a hint of delicious malt in the background, this is a taste-bud
activating scent that invites that deep first sip.

A caffeinated beer? “Absolutely!” says Chris Barnard, Chief Brewer and
MD of innovative Boston Breweries craft brewing company. “This is a
stout: a drink that is to be savoured rather than chugged. It is the
perfect evening drink, and is ideal at meal time too. It’s a fantastic
accompaniment to sweeter foods, and the subtle carbonation makes it
perfect to cleanse palates after creamy dishes.”

Black River Coffee Stout lives up to the reputation that stouts have built since 1677:
hugely popular dark brown beers made with roasted malts: they were stout
by name and stout by nature. Boston Breweries have stuck with the
centuries old brewing tradition, but with a coffee flavoured twist that
would have had our ancestors drooling.

Judd Nicolay, co-founder and operations manager of Deluxe Coffeeworks is
in full agreement. “Black River Coffee Stout fits the Deluxe Coffee
profile to perfection. We are passionate about coffee and we think that
this is good enough reasons for us to do what we do: roast, supply and
serve coffee in the best way we know how. In Black River Coffee Stout
our coffee taste is brilliantly captured, and we are proud to be
collaborating with Boston Breweries on this great stout.”
This adventurous approach also highlights the Deluxe Coffeeworks team’s
belief that what counts in the world of coffee is not hackneyed
tradition, but what the clients want, and how they like to consume their
brew. This is reflected in Deluxe Coffeeworks laid back, old-school
fashion: great music, good company and perfectly brewed coffee. Add the
Boston Breweries innovation and brewing perfection to this mix and you
end up with a whole new world of taste and flavour; a world where brews
collide to create a drink that is reminiscent of two completely
different, but equally refreshing processes. The sticker on Black River
Coffee Stout’s bottles says it perfectly: “Where brewing meets the
Deluxe Coffeeworks full-bodied, full flavoured and smooth coffee beans
enhancing Boston Breweries perfected brewing methods promises to be a
ground-breaking move that will set the beer and coffee drinking worlds
alight. Available in both bottles and traditional kegs, Black River
Coffee Stout with its thick, chocolate coloured head and superb coffee
flavour notes is a brewing innovation whose time has come.

Looking for somewhere to grab yourself a Black River Coffee Stout? Great! Download MyBru App (available to download for free on the Play Store & App Store) and find out where you can grab this amazing brew.

SA City Pass: Cape Town in 2 days.

SA City Pass: Cape Town in 2 days.

With free access to 70+ attractions in and around Cape Town, and just 2 days to enjoy them, we had to plan carefully to make the most of our SA City Passes – and that’s exactly what we did!

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Here’s what we got up to on day one:

Our first stop was 81 Long street, where we collected our SA City Pass and complimentary Hop on Hop off City Sightseeing Bus ticket – we hopped on the first red city sightseeing bus at around 09:00 and made our way to Table Mountain. Our City Pass let us skip the growing queue outside, and within a few minutes we were standing in the cable car taking in the beautiful view surrounding us.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

We did some exploring on top of Table Mountain, made friends with some dassies, and grabbed some breakfast at the Table Mountain Café.

After our Table Mountain adventure, it was back to the red bus and through to Camp’s Bay to enjoy some American influence at Hard Rock Café, with great food, cocktails, and friendly service! Definitely a must if you’re a fan of rock and a good time.

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

From Hard Rock Café we made our way to the V&A waterfront, where we planned to do our first cruise, but unfortunately the skipper was unavailable, so we decided to do some shopping at H&M for their end of summer sale instead.

Next up was some stand up paddle boarding at SUP Cape Town, where we spent an hour taking a relaxed paddle up and down the waterfront canals. A tranquil, and enjoyable experience that we cannot wait to do again – and surprisingly easier than expected, so whether you’re an avid watersports enthusiast, or you’re trying it out for the first time, we would highly recommend it.

From our SUP session, we took a brief walk back to the harbor for our sunset champagne tour, which included beautiful views of Cape Town’s breathtaking coastline, accompanied by some whale watching. The Waterfront Charter’s team were friendly, and more than accommodating.

With some time left to spare, we decided to fit in the Cape Big Wheel – although we were exhausted, we still managed to enjoy the beautiful nightlife views of the city.

Day two:

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Still exhausted from day one, and with Cape Town weather against us, we put on our jackets and started our day off at V&A food market for some breakfast and snacks – and then once again jumped on the city sightseeing bus, and headed through to Hout Bay for a cruise to seal island in the pouring rain. Cold, wet, but worth it.

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

From Hout Bay we stopped back at V&A, and finished off with a walk through the popular Two Ocean’s Aquarium – where we got to see some intriguing sea-life.

After two days of adventure, we were exhausted and ready to spend our last few hours relaxing.

SA City Passes are available for 2,3, or 5 days and can be purchased online from the City Pass SA official website here.
