SA City Pass: Cape Town in 2 days.

With free access to 70+ attractions in and around Cape Town, and just 2 days to enjoy them, we had to plan carefully to make the most of our SA City Passes – and that’s exactly what we did!

Here’s what we got up to on day one:

Our first stop was 81 Long street, where we collected our SA City Pass and complimentary Hop on Hop off City Sightseeing Bus ticket – we hopped on the first red city sightseeing bus at around 09:00 and made our way to Table Mountain. Our City Pass let us skip the growing queue outside, and within a few minutes we were standing in the cable car taking in the beautiful view surrounding us.

We did some exploring on top of Table Mountain, made friends with some dassies, and grabbed some breakfast at the Table Mountain Café.

After our Table Mountain adventure, it was back to the red bus and through to Camp’s Bay to enjoy some American influence at Hard Rock Café, with great food, cocktails, and friendly service! Definitely a must if you’re a fan of rock and a good time.

From Hard Rock Café we made our way to the V&A waterfront, where we planned to do our first cruise, but unfortunately the skipper was unavailable, so we decided to do some shopping at H&M for their end of summer sale instead.

Next up was some stand up paddle boarding at SUP Cape Town, where we spent an hour taking a relaxed paddle up and down the waterfront canals. A tranquil, and enjoyable experience that we cannot wait to do again – and surprisingly easier than expected, so whether you’re an avid watersports enthusiast, or you’re trying it out for the first time, we would highly recommend it.

From our SUP session, we took a brief walk back to the harbor for our sunset champagne tour, which included beautiful views of Cape Town’s breathtaking coastline, accompanied by some whale watching. The Waterfront Charter’s team were friendly, and more than accommodating.

With some time left to spare, we decided to fit in the Cape Big Wheel – although we were exhausted, we still managed to enjoy the beautiful nightlife views of the city.

Day two:

Still exhausted from day one, and with Cape Town weather against us, we put on our jackets and started our day off at V&A food market for some breakfast and snacks – and then once again jumped on the city sightseeing bus, and headed through to Hout Bay for a cruise to seal island in the pouring rain. Cold, wet, but worth it.

From Hout Bay we stopped back at V&A, and finished off with a walk through the popular Two Ocean’s Aquarium – where we got to see some intriguing sea-life.

After two days of adventure, we were exhausted and ready to spend our last few hours relaxing.
